General information
For start of the cold engine of model with the diesel engine are equipped with the system of prestarting heating including 4 glow plugs, the control unit glow plugs and a control lamp of work of system of prestarting heating.
In each vortical chamber the glow plug representing an electric heating element executed in the metal case with a probe on one end and electric connection on other is established. At work of a candle there is a heating
submitted fuel to optimal-
ache burning temperatures. Giving
tension to glow plugs it is supervised by the diesel electronic control unit of system of injection of fuel (ECU). Period of operation of candles of an incandescence (heating period)
it is regulated by the control unit (ECU) which supervises engine temperature via the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid and changes time of heating to improve operating conditions of the engine. Control
lamp of system prestarting under -
грева in the dashboard dies away after the heating termination, however tension to glow plugs continues to move till engine start-up. If attempt of start-up of the engine is not present, tension is disconnected from candles of an incandescence.
After start-up of the engine of a glow plug continue to work still some time that promotes improvement of combustion of fuel at warming up of the engine and allows to reduce emission of the fulfilled gases.
The system of prestarting heating of the diesel engine joins at ignition key turn in situation "II". However on cars with AAZ engines the system of the prestarting engine joins after opening and the subsequent closing of a door of the driver.
Control unit glow plugs
On engines 1Z, AHU and AFN the predpuskovy heating copes ECU.
On early models the control unit of prestarting heating of the diesel engine is located under the dashboard over the main block of the relay. For access to the control unit glow plugs remove the corresponding sections of furnish of the dashboard.
On late models the control unit is located glow plugs in a motor compartment near a washer tank

Removal of the block carry out in the following order:
– disconnect wires from the negative plug of the storage battery;
– disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the control unit;
– unscrew fixing screws and, having raised, take the control unit from an arm.
Installation of the control unit carry out to sequences, return to removal.
