Repair B3-B4/Passat B3-B4 Volkswagen Passat>> Engines>> Petrol engines of configuration of R4>> Engine dismantling For dismantling establish the engine on the stand. In the absence of the stand establish the engine on an equal surface on a wooden support and fix it from capsizing. Before dismantling clear the engine outside and wash out kerosene. Knots and the details removed from the engine, wash out kerosene. Do not immerse in detail kerosene with internal lubricant channels. These details should be wiped carefully a fabric moistened in kerosene, and lubricant channels to clean a wire and to blow the compressed air. Fine details put in the prepared containers. When dismantling the engine keep old laying. They will serve as a sample for manufacturing of laying in case of lack of the new.
After removal of the engine dismantle from it the following details, knots and units: generator, high-voltage wires of system of ignition, spark plug, ignition distributor; details of system of injection of fuel; inlet and final collectors; index of level of oil, oil filter, arms of support of the engine; coupling, flywheel or leading disk, thermostat and water pump.
Dismantling of the engine is carried out in the following sequence:
– remove a gear belt of a drive of GRM (see подразд. 3.1.4);
– remove a camshaft and pushers (see подразд. 3.1.5);
– remove a head of the block of cylinders (see подразд. 3.1.6);
– remove an intermediate shaft (see подразд. 3.1.9);
– remove a flywheel or a leading disk (see подразд. 3.1.8);
– remove the oil pallet (see подразд. 3.1.10);
– remove the oil pump (see подразд. 3.1.12);
– remove pistons with rods (see 3.1.13);
– check numbering existence on covers 2 (see
fig. 3.27
) radical bearings, number a cover center punch if numbering is absent;
– unscrew bolts of 1 fastening of covers of radical bearings No. 1, 2, 4, 5 and remove covers 2 together with loose leaves. Do not depersonalize loose leaves of 3 radical bearings, at assembly they should be established on the former places;
– check axial люфт a cranked shaft shchupy 3
(fig. 3.36)
between a persistent half ring and a cheek of a cranked shaft. If axial люфт exceeds admissible (see подразд. 3.1.1), it is necessary to replace persistent half rings 4 and 6 (see
fig. 3.27
) or a cranked shaft;
– unscrew bolts of 1 fastening of a cover of the central radical bearing No. 3 and uncover;
– remove a cranked shaft 7;
– remove loose leaves of 3 beds of radical bearings. Do not depersonalize loose leaves of radical bearings, at assembly they should be established on the former places.
