It is recommended to replace a gear belt of a drive of the gas-distributing mechanism (GRM) through each 60 000 km of run of the car.

Belt 4 removal (fig. 3.2) of a drive of a camshaft carry out in the following order:
– disconnect a wire of the negative plug of the storage battery;
– weaken a tension and remove a belt 8 of a drive of the generator and the water pump;
– disconnect and remove a sleeve of supply of air between the air filter or a measuring instrument of a consumption of air and the butterfly valve case;
– lift a forward part of the car a jack and establish it on supports;
– remove the right forward wheel;
– unscrew a bolt and remove a pulley of the water pump;
– unscrew a nut and a special bolt of fastening of the bottom cover of the 10th belt of a drive of a camshaft to the water pump;
– remove brackets and unscrew a nut of fastening of the top cover of 1 belt of a drive of a camshaft, uncover 1;
– note the angular provision of a pulley 9 cranked shaft concerning a cogwheel 11 cranked shaft, remove a pulley 9;
– unscrew bolts of fastening of the bottom cover of the 10th belt of a drive of a camshaft, uncover 10 and laying;

– establish the piston of the first cylinder in the top dead point (VMT) of the end of a step of compression for what turn a cranked shaft for a pulley bolt clockwise before combination of labels: on a pulley of a cranked shaft and the bottom cover of a belt of a drive of a camshaft (at not removed bottom cover, fig. 3.3 ); on a pulley of a cranked shaft and a gear pulley of an intermediate shaft (at the removed bottom cover, fig. 3.4 ); on a gear pulley of a camshaft and a head of the block of cylinders (SOHC engines, fig. 3.5 ); on asterisks of camshafts (DOHC engines, fig. 3.6 ); on a flywheel of a cranked shaft (fig. 3.7) ;
– weaken a nut 6 (see fig. 3.2 ) and weaken a tension of a belt 4 drives of a camshaft turn of a tension roller 5 counter-clockwise;
– note a marker the direction of movement of a belt 4 in case it will be repeatedly established;
– remove a belt 4 drives of a camshaft;

       PREVENTION
After removal of a belt it is forbidden to turn cranked and distributive shaft as it will lead to serious damage of the engine because of impact of pistons with valves.

– unscrew a nut of the 6th fastening of a tension roller, remove a tension roller 5;
– unscrew a bolt of fastening of a gear pulley of a camshaft, holding a pulley from a provorachivaniye;
– remove from a camshaft a washer, a cogwheel and a shponka;
– remove a gear pulley 13 intermediate shaft, having executed the same operations;
– unscrew a bolt of the 12th fastening of a gear pulley 11 cranked shaft and remove a wheel. For a bolt otvorachivaniye the cranked shaft is necessary for blocking from a provorachivaniye. For this purpose on cars with a mechanical transmission include the fifth transfer and brake the car the parking brake, on models with an automatic transmission uncover an observation port of a flywheel and block a cranked shaft by means of an assembly shovel for a gear wreath of a flywheel.
Installation of a belt of a drive of a camshaft carry out to sequences, return to removal. At first a belt establish on a gear pulley of a cranked shaft, then on a gear pulley of an intermediate shaft, a gear pulley of a camshaft and a tension roller. After a tension of a belt check combination of adjusting labels (see fig. 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 3.8 ).

The belt of a drive of a camshaft stretches rotation of an axis of a tension roller. The tension of a belt is checked by a provorachivaniye manually a leading branch of a belt. If the belt cannot be turned on a corner 90 °, it is necessary to weaken its tension if the belt can be turned on a bigger corner — to pull it. Turn a cranked shaft of the engine on 2 complete revolutions and again check a tension of a gear belt.
