Do not start up the engine in the closed rooms as thus there is a danger of poisoning with carbon monoxide.

Before start-up of the engine establish the gear shifting lever in neutral situation (or in the situation "P" or "N" on cars with an automatic box) and press a coupling pedal. After start-up of the engine release a key.
Start-up of the cold engine short time can be accompanied by the increased noise connected with insufficient pressure of oil in system of greasing. Right after start-up it is possible to begin movement but while the engine did not get warm, it is necessary to support low frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft.

1. At start-up of the engine of the car with catalytic converter of the fulfilled gases the method of towage does not authorize its moving on distance more than 60 m. Not burned down fuel gets to converter and can put it out of action. Try to start up the engine by means of the storage battery of other car better.
2. Engine start-up by a method of towage of cars with an automatic transmission is not allowed.

At engine start-up with system of injection of fuel do not press an accelerator pedal. If the engine does not earn during 10 with, stop start-up and repeat it again through 30 pages. If the engine repeatedly is not started up, check an integrity of the fuse of the electric fuel pump.
At start-up of the hot engine after its start-up slightly increase frequency of rotation of the engine, having pressed an accelerator pedal.

At start-up of the diesel engine at ignition key turn in situation II (see fig. 1.24 ) in a combination of devices the control lamp 7 (fig. 1.25) of candles of an incandescence which informs the driver on inclusion of system of prestarting heating lights up and dies away at their switching off when the engine gets warm to necessary temperature.
The diesel engine of 1.9 TD (55 kW, an engine code — AAZ) is equipped with system of prestarting heating which joins automatically when opening and closing a door of the driver. If the engine thus was not started up, the system will automatically join and be switched off after each repeated opening and door closing.
Order of start-up of the diesel engine:
– turn a key in the ignition lock in situation II (see fig. 1.24 ), the control lamp 7 (see fig. 1.25 ) incandescence candles thus should light up;
– turn a key in the ignition lock in situation III (see fig. 1.24 ) after the control lamp 7 will go out, and start up the engine;
– after engine start-up immediately release a key in the ignition lock.

Start-up of the cold diesel engine becomes simpler at increase in frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft idling. This function is carried out by a regulator of frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft idling. The handle 5 (see fig. 1.1 ) managements of a regulator is to the left of a steering column. For engine start-up at air temperature above–15 °C completely extend the handle on itself. If air temperature is lower–15 ° With, at first turn a key in the ignition lock in situation II (see fig. 1.24 ), then extend the handle 5 (see fig. 1.1 ).
In order to avoid a discharge of the storage battery it is recommended to disconnect at inclusion of candles of an incandescence other consumers of the electric power.
At start-up of the engine do not press an accelerator pedal.
If start-up is accompanied by non-uniform work with admissions of operation of cylinders, hold included a starter, but no more than 30 pages.
If the engine is not started up, repeatedly include glow plugs and repeat start-up. If the engine is not started up from the second attempt, check an integrity of the fuse of candles of an incandescence. After engine warming up to working temperature the handle of management of the accelerator of single turns establish in a starting position.
At a stop of the engine it is necessary to remember the following:
– after long operation of the engine under loading or works at high frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft do not switch off the engine right after a car stop. The engine should work 2–3 mines idling. It will prevent an engine overheat;
– after an engine stop the fan of cooling of the engine can some time (to 10 mines) to continue to work;
– the fan of cooling of the engine can turn on and after a while after an engine stop at temperature increase of not circulating cooling liquid.

At the car with catalytic converter of the fulfilled gases it is impossible to switch off ignition during movement on any transfer.
