Removal of brake shoes carry out in the following order:

will hang out a back part of the car and fix on basic racks;

through openings in wheels visually check a condition of external back brake shoes. Internal blocks can be checked, using a small mirror and a portable lamp, examining blocks through openings in a back part of brake supports;

PREVENTION Surely make replacement of all blocks on one axis of the car even if the limit of wear were reached by one block. If blocks are repeatedly established, before removal they are necessary for marking.

for check of thickness of overlays of blocks, remove back wheels;

if blocks are repeatedly used, put adjusting labels for the subsequent correct installation;

disconnect from a support a cable of the hand brake;

unscrew bolts of fastening of a support, holding from a provorachivaniye directing finger. Remove a support and, a wire tie up a support to a suspension bracket (fig. 12.13) ;

take brake shoes from a support;

clear a support of a dust and dirt;

Installation of brake shoes carry out in the following order:

at installation of new brake shoes it is necessary to press the piston into a support;

PREVENTION At a piston vvinchivaniye brake liquid is forced out from the brake cylinder in a broad tank therefore constantly supervise level of brake liquid in a tank. If it is necessary, choose liquid from a tank as a syringe.

press the piston into the cylinder, using the VW 3131 tool, pressing it and rotating clockwise (fig. 12.14) , or angular flat-nose pliers for lock rings;

establish brake shoes, watching thus that press springs were directed top parallel to the upper edge of brake shoes. At installation of old blocks on adjusting labels be convinced that they are established correctly;

establish a support and ввыверните new bolts of fastening of a directing finger;

having connected a cable of the parking brake (fig. 12.15) to a support, establish wheels and check operation of the parking brake;

check level of brake liquid and if necessary add liquid to normal level;

press a brake pedal in order that blocks occupied the working provisions.
