Repair B3-B4/Passat B3-B4 Volkswagen Passat>> Power supply system>> Power supply system of the diesel engine>> Check and adjustment of the moment of injection of fuel of the fuel pump of a high pressure of the AAZ engine Check of the moment of injection of fuel of the fuel pump of a high pressure of the AAZ engine it is carried out in the following order:
disconnect a wire from a negative conclusion of the storage battery;
establish the piston of the first cylinder in the top dead point;
check installation of pulleys of the fuel pump and a camshaft and adjust if necessary;
unscrew a carving stopper 4 (see
fig. 5.81
) which is in a back part of the pump between unions of pipelines of a high pressure;
in a carving opening screw in an adapter of the indicator of hour type so that the measuring tip of an adapter acted on 2,5 mm;
slowly turn a cranked shaft in the direction opposite to the worker until of the shooter of the indicator will not stop, and establish the indicator of hour type on a zero;
turn a cranked shaft of the engine clockwise and establish the piston of the first cylinder in the top dead point. Thus the indicator of hour type should show value from 0,83 to 0,97 mm;
if the value shown by the indicator is in norm limits, remove an adapter with the indicator of hour type from the pump and screw in a carving stopper.
Adjustment of the moment of injection
of fuel of the fuel pump
of a high pressure of the AAZ engine
Carry out in the following order:
weaken bolts of fastening of the fuel pump of a high pressure to forward and back an arm;
turn the case of the fuel pump of a high pressure until the indicator of hour type will not show value of 0,92 mm;
in this position of the pump tighten bolts of fastening of the fuel pump.
